Jenny Barton is a transplant to Dallas from New York City who appears to have it all: a job with a high-profile newspaper, a great boyfriend, and a gold-digging best friend who also is fairly successful in her field.

When Jenny catches her boyfriend cheating with the worst of the Dallas gold-diggers, however, things get ugly. Jenny is forced to move in with her best friend, Aimee, and begins to learn about gold-digging for herself. Before long, Jenny finds herself juggling two extremely wealthy men. She's head-over-heels attracted to one, but her friends forbade her from dating him, pushing her toward the other man. Jenny is left wondering whether attraction and love have anything to do with a marriage, or if those factors are overshadowed by a man's assets and bank account.
